On Saturday September 23rd, Hospice of Southern Maine is hosting its annual remembrance event, Twilight in the Park. This event will be held at Deering Oaks park at 6:30 pm. It’s free and kid friendly.
Event Description: Hospice of Southern Maine once again offers their annual remembrance event to the southern Maine community. As dusk falls over Deering Oaks Park in Portland, imagine standing amidst thousands of luminarias with friends, family and other community members to remember, honor and celebrate those who have died. Anyone grieving the loss of a loved one is encouraged to attend, whether the death was recent or many years ago, and whether the loved one died in hospice care or not. Sharing the experience with others in the community who are also grieving a loss is a positive step in the healing process.
Luminarias may be ordered online at www.hospiceofsouthernmaine.org/twilight or by mail for $10 each. Each luminaria displays the name of the individual for whom it is dedicated. Hospice of Southern Maine will place and light them at the event. The event includes a short program of words and music.
