Have you ever wondered what it feels like to have Alzheimer’s or dementia? You can find out at a special look inside the locked world of Alzheimers on Wednesday, May 25, during a presentation at Bay Square in Yarmouth. Refreshments start the evening at 5 p.m. and the program begins at 5:30.

Mal Allard, nurse and Alzheimer’s consultant, will lead an exploration of the minds of people with Alzheimer’s, to aid in communication and help caregivers learn to cope with the daily challenges of caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s by walking a mile in their shoes.

Participants will learn how people with Alzheimer’s and dementia may feel and think within their disease process, why people with Alzheimer’s no longer live or communicate in the “real world,” and how to address emotions of dementia in promoting positive communication and interation.
