The Portland Social Security office will relocate to its new location at 312 Fore St, Portland, ME 04101, on Monday, May 1, 2023. Business operations at 1355 Congress St., Portland, ME, 04102, will end at close of business on Tuesday, April 25, 2023.
Social Security office hours are from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday.The agency strongly encourages people to use its online services at www.socialsecurity.gov, or call on the phone and schedule appointments in advance when possible, rather than walking in without an appointment. Phone appointments can save people a trip to a busy office.
Most Social Security services are available to the public online with a My Social Security account, or by calling Social Security toll-free at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778). The online services at www.socialsecurity.gov are easy and convenient if you’re able to use the internet and create your My Social Security account. And don’t forget that scheduling appointments in advance when possible, rather than walking in, will save time and might even save a trip to the office.
