Cape Memory Care in Cape Elizabeth has submitted several entries into Long Term Care Living magazine’s third Annual Remodel/Renovation Competition. The competition, created in 2009, showcases design in the long-term care community.
A panel of experts appointed by SAGE (The Society for Advancement of Gerontological Environments) will review all submissions and narrow them down to the top 5 in three judging categories:
- Resident Room
- Dining Room and
- Common Space.
Long Term Living posted these projects on www.ltlmagazine.com the week of April 18. Reader voting began April 27 and remains open through May 18. The top project in each category, as voted on by readers, will be showcased in the September 2011 issue of Long Term Living’s “Remodel/Renovation” supplement, hosted online, and highlighted at the 2012 Environments for Aging Conference.
Cape Memory Care entered their renovation of a common area called “Little Italy” in the contest. The new common space evokes the warm and sunny feeling of an Italian piazza, with places to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee.
