Thornton Oaks retirement community, Brunswick, Maine, brings together all the best elements for retirement living. Located on Maine’s midcoast, a mile from Bowdoin College, Brunswick is home to the Bowdoin International Music Festival and the Maine State Music Theater. Recently named one of the best college towns to retire to in the northeast, Brunswick was awarded the third best bicycling community in the United States and the only one in Maine to earn the League’s Bicycle-Friendly Community designation. Our dining is based on fresh and local foods; our lifestyle offers art exhibits, trips to the symphony, theater, dining out, and speakers on issues ranging from international relations to the health of Casco Bay.

Our health services program, directed by an RN, focuses on wellness, providing a regular exercise class, exercise room, walking trail, and alternative exercise programs such as Tai Chi or Yoga. All residents are offered a complimentary membership in the Running Start adult exercise program at Bowdoin College and use of the college pool.
