Kiplinger’s has named Portland, Maine the best place to live for those of us in our “Second Act”. Portland beat out Sante Fe, Austin, Springfiled, IL, and Barnstable, MA for the honor.
Kiplinger ranked the cities based on living costs, strong employment growth and a population that scores high on measures of education and tech-savviness. For “Second Acts”, they also factored in the number of golf courses as well as the number of artists and musicians. One of the other scores: number of restaurants per 100 population.
