Medicare questions often revolve around rehab options.
Southern Maine Agency on Aging  is working with Time Warner Cable to broadcast a regular feature, “Questions about Medicare” on Channel 9. You can catch the first show June 3 at 7 p.m.
Medicare is government health insurance for people age 65 or older, under 65 with certain disabilities, and any age with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). The government web site has lots of information, but it’s a very large and complicated program, and it’s great to have experienced people available to answer questions.

Dave Smith, one of the Medicare counselors for SMAA, will be the on-air “talent” for this program, and will also be involved in next month’s show, which airs July 1.

SMAA is also working with Time Warner to get a more in-depth program called “Frequently Asked Questions About Medicare” taped using video on demand, so that the program can be downloaded at any time by TWC customers with digital cable service statewide.

Since TWC claims to control 75% of the cable TV audience in Maine, this could be a very effective tool for sharing Medicare information. Thanks, SMAA!
