Speaker Bio:

Mr. McCann is a United State Marine Corps combat veteran who served multiple tours of duty in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Following his honorable discharge in 2012, Mr. McCann returned to Maine where he began his civilian career with Preble Street as a social worker assisting veterans experiencing homelessness before transitioning to Massachusetts-based Veterans Inc. to continue his work as an advocate for veterans and their families.

In 2015 Mr. McCann was selected by Congresswoman Chellie Pingree to serve in her office as the first-ever Wounded Warrior Fellow in Maine. Mr. McCann worked for Congresswoman Pingree for 2 ½ years and then served as Congressman Jared Golden’s District Representative before joining the VA Maine Health Care System as their Public Affairs and Government Relations Officer in January 2023.

Mr. McCann holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Southern Maine and a master’s degree in Public Policy, Planning and Management from the University of Maine’s Muskie School of Public Service.
